GETTING THERE
NYEGE NYEGE is now held annually at Itanda Falls. Experience, a unique, culturally significant and iconic venue facing the majestic Itanda falls on the Nile river. One of the most breathtaking natural spots in East Africa and a site of great cultural importance for the Busoga people. The site features spacious, secure grounds wrapped around the Nile offering 180 views of the river from every vantage point and incredible Sunset vistas.
Itanda Falls Experience is 113 km from Kampala, approximately a two & half hour drive. There are two different routes to reach the festival from Kampala.
ROUTE 1
Kampala Jinja Highway (A109) , crossing over the new Jinja Nile bridge upto the first Jinja Roundabout (Amber Court roundabout where the Café Java / Shell Petrol Station is located) and taking the 1 st exit onto the Jinja – Bundondo rd direct to Itanda Falls.
ROUTE 2
You can also take the Kampala – Gayaza rd to Kayunga and then cross the Nile River via the newly constructed Isimba Dam bridge. From there it’s a signposted 45 minute drive to Itanda Falls/ Nyege Nyege Festival.

From Jinja town it’s a short 27 km drive. Approx. 45 min by car. From Amber Court roundabout where the Café Java / Shell Petrol Station is located) you take the exit onto the Jinja – Bundondo road direct to Itanda Falls. There are regular shuttles from Jinja to Itanda and from Itanda to Jinja every 2 hours via our transportation partner Treepz.ug
Shuttles in Jinja depart and arrive to the Jina Rugby Club (Former Laftaz) / currently called Pit Stop Sport Lounge. There is safe parking at car park if you would like to leave you car and take the shuttle direct to the festival site.
From Nairobi Kenya it’s about a 12 hour drive (597 km). Their is a number of Party Buses leaving Nairobi on Wednesday 14th of October

The community around the festival offer secure parking for vehicles throughout the four days a short five-minute walk from the festival gate. Prices start from 10,000 UGX per day. All proceeds from parking fees go towards the community in the area.
You can apply for an e-visa to Uganda via the Uganda Immigration Website. Please allow for at least two working weeks for the visa to be processed. https://visas.immigration.go.ug/
Proof of vaccination is required for visitors entering Uganda or a Covid-19 PCR test taken within 72 hrs. of departure. All visitors into Uganda also need proof of yellow fever vaccination.
The international airport for arrival for Uganda is Entebbe Airport. (EBB) It’s a 2 hour and 50 minute drive from Entebbe airport to the Nyege Nyege Festival site at Itanda Falls.
Special hire vehicles are available from Entebbe airport to Itanda Falls/ Nyege Nyege for about 300 – 350’000 ugx (about 80 usd). Alternatively, you can book your travel directly to the festival from the airport with our trusted travel partner Treepz.ug
